I had always been prone to suffering with headaches as a teenager and into my twenties, however about 6 years ago I started to develop migraines and would get about 1 every two or three months but the medication the doctor gave me worked 90% of the time and it wasn’t too much of an issue. However they gradually got more frequent until they become daily throughout the Summer of 2010, on our holiday in Florida and for two weeks before we went I had a migraine every day except 2 days and was taking migraine medication most of those days. It was whilst sitting up in the middle of the night on holiday I was determined to find a solution. I’d done this many times before and tried everything MRI scans, Osteopath, food intolerances, cutting pretty much everything out of my diet, and nothing worked. That night I came across the mention of the NTI which pointed out migraines can be caused by teeth, jaw and surrounding areas, that made me realise mine probably started after I had my teeth straightened in my mid 30’s. I did a search for dentists in the UK that knew about these things (there were very few) and Dr Rory Linden Kelly stood out from my research as someone who had lots of experience and knowledge in this area. I visited on the 1st September 2010 and after an examination he told me he thought pretty certain my jaw was the issue and the NTI would help. He made one there and then, and then I didn’t have another migraine from that day until January! For most of September I did have bad tension headaches which seemed due to the medication withdrawal and my muscles relaxing from not clenching in the night. However even this was a major step forward as these headaches I could get on with my normal daily activities. By October those had stopped as well and I went through Christmas 2010 with no headaches in my 3 week holiday compared to one every day of my previous Christmas holiday. In the January I did get a few minor migraines and went back because I’d noticed some teeth had started to clench again. Rory suspected my upper wisdom tooth was moving down slightly and did some adjustments letting me know if they didn’t work or it came back the tooth may have to come out. The adjustments worked for about a month but it seemed the tooth moved again so in the end the tooth was removed and now not only am I back to no migraines but finally my mouth closes properly with my teeth for the first time in years! This has been an amazing journey and fantastic transformation for business and personal life. I have already recommended a friend of mine who had suffered since a teenager with migraines and tried everything and Rory has also resolved his migraine issues as well! We are really looking forward to this years family holiday and a whole holiday without the family having to wait for Dad to get rid of another migraine before we go out.
